Nutrition Tip of the Week – Jan. 1, 2012

nutrition tips

This week’s nutrition tip:

Use fruit and 100% fruit juice to sweeten recipes naturally. Often times you can greatly reduce the amount of refined sugar a recipe uses by substituting fruit / fruit juice. Bananas and medjool dates are a great way to sweeten smoothies. Pineapple juice is a great way to sweeten muffins and baked goods.   You can also use jars of baby food fruit.  Don’t be afraid to experiment!

I prefer fresh fruit juice as compared to the carbonated drinks for it does not have chemicals that might be a risk to the health. They are even more sweeter than the carbonated drinks.
